Unisided hubmounts are the single most stressed elements
of any tadpole trike, whether they use headsets or custom
kingpins for attaching the wheels, as does the
GNAT: they have to withstand dynamic loads of
a considerable mass in motion (trike with rider)
simultaneously in three dimensions. This hubmount combines
a base for a unilateral (one-sided) 12mm axle for the
wheel with anchors for wishbone outriggers, steering links, and
a sturdy endpoint for the suspension "spring". Except for
the last one, all the other need to detach quickly for
collapsing...

Delta-form trike= one wheel in front,
two in the back type. (For the sake
of consistency, shouldn't "tadpole"
better be called a p r i s m trike?) |
