Following the too-massive-by-far GNATOSAURUS, Nick seems to have realised, that replacing welded spaceframe parts by similar- form composite ones was not the answer to simplifying serial small- scale production, as the end result proved both too heavy and too expensive for the kit-buyers market that he had in mind. Therefore, a viable GNAT would have to be redone from scratch, a brand new design maximizing the strengths of the (admittedly simpler to manufacture in numbers) monocoque composite medium. Q.E.D.H. | Because the front suspension made of synthetic webbing proved so successful, Nick elected to employ it also in the rear, by employing a wishbone tension arm, to the apex of which is anchored the 4cm wide RED suspension-"spring" element. |
