this is my first post. I'm interested in HPV:s but not active.

I read the rules with regard to some imaginary projects in my head.

Rule 3.1.1 states that no control devices may be powered by non-human power sources. This makes me wonder what a control device is. Are the Shimano Di2 derailleurs control devices?

If anyone have thought about this or know the interpretation of this rule I would be very grateful if you would let me know.

This is not an official response but derailleurs alone are not a control device. It is my understanding the IHPVA allows battery powered electronic derailleurs. It is also my understanding that the rules only prohibit non-human powered sources that contribute or might be construed to contribute to the forward momentum of the vehicle.
