Some students and I have been doing some sail pumping on a land board - we flap a windurfing sail back and forth and reach about 3 m/s on a gym floor. Efficiency is about 20%. Used the gyros on an iphone to measure angle of attack, etc.
We'd like to submit an article about it to IHPVA but as far as I can tell there is no longer any human-powered journal.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Sergio Perez
