The seat tube folds down onto the top tube and the rear triangle pivots under the BB to allow it to be "tucked along" the frame. The "secret" to BF's compact folding is that both of these hinges are slightly asymmetric, at an angle vs the vertical center plane of the frame. Thus the rear triangle "tucks along" rather than directly "under" or inside the front.
