The Brompton Folder.
Next, the top tube is "broken" at its main joint, and folded behind the free- standing bike- object, where it latches onto a special hook attached to a frame to make it self- locked. Here I usually follow by folding down (or, more precisely, "up") the left pedal: 1 second. Not this sunny September day almost five years ago, though.
When unfolding from that very state, the bike can be "brought back" into "order" in one swift, coordinated movement.  One.  Well, one that counts for the sheer effect of it, even though the front hinge must then be secured (a few seconds), and the pedal made "whole" again. This Instant-a- Bike inevitably leads to the deepest, most sincere and loud expressions of awe, disbelief and astonishment  from onlookers that can be imagined. A bike suddenly emerging from a lotus- like heap of iron. If there ever was an Aha!  machine, a Spontaneous Aha! Generator, or the like, this is certainly it. Been there, hear that all the time sort of thing. That's why the Brompton is one Babe Magnet!

Total folding time thus far:  2 + 7 seconds.
