It may be hard to grasp, but inside that cocoon- like contraption sits an ordinary, if sporty, human answering to the name of "Mark Wyss" (of Bern, Switzerland), and not some Alien from Outer Space or Beyond. Apparently this GRP (glass- fibre reinforced plastic) fairing is of his own make, while the bike that it covers is a more or less stock Lightning CD P-38.
    Water in the background is the artificial square 2000 by 100 meter long lake, built for kayaking events at the 1972 München Olympics. HPV races that day took form of a number of laps around that lake. Not exactly a dream course.
