European HPV Championships 1993 in Farum, Denmark.

Among the more-exotic bikes present in Farum was this KingCycle WASP front wheel drive low racer. Low- riders are these bikes, in which rider's hand doubles as a parking stand at rest; see the proof in upper- left of the opening picture. They are of extremely low aerodynamic profile and weight. This one was especially memorable on account of being front- wheel driven.
Driving and steering the same bicycle wheel doesn't mix very well, especially at low speeds, where manouverability of such FWD bikes may be constricted by the drivetrain. Still, it is not such a disadvantage in racing, where practical concerns like these are by necessity of lesser value, than the issues of efficiency of rider energy transfer, and minimization of the drag. Everything else is secondary.
A nice cycle, though I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for city biking.
