The Leitra Velomobile.

Basic Leitra frame is made up of a protective cage with armrests, into which is inserted a special GRP seat; an "airy" yet stiff, triangulated front boom with the BB (bottom bracket), and front and rear suspension realized as 4 crescent- shaped 1/4-inch thick custom carbon- fibre springs (in front), and 2 even thicker ones in the rear, to which the wheels are fastened. The all- suspended undercarriage makes the ride extremely pleasant, as if traveling in an easy chair. This may sound like the usual hype at first, but that's mainly because so few people have anything to compare it with, ever experienced what it feels like to ride a well- behaved velomobile, let alone a comfortable one. The closest, that I can associate it with, are the electric "radio cars" usually found in fairgrounds and the like. Well, unlike these, Leitras are no toys, and have to function in real- life traffic situations.
The curvy aluminum tube is not a "roll bar", but top support for the fairing, which will rest on the two round foam "handles" covered in black tape. Observe that the rear wheel is pretty- much enclosed in a custom fender, and the front, minimal- size mudguards, the smaller of two types available for the Leitra, are reinforced by black carbon- fibre stands for rigidity.
This particular unit was being built for a customer with only partial use of one hand and, therefore, most controls were fitted to the left steering stick (which, of course, is connected underneath to the rightside one). The up- and down- turned Y-shaped part in front is the quick- release fastening hitch for the fairing. Front wheels are equipped with drum brakes.
