The Leitra Velomobile.

Upper tail has been added, one of the 8 or 9 different plastic parts (not counting the large single-part fairing) that lend the Leitra its accomplished vehicle image, and make up its streamlined body. The tail is attached in the rear to the rear carrier, and used as support for two textile body panels, one on each side, that complete the hardshell fairing. Because traffic laws in Denmark stipulate that a bicyclist must be able to signal intention to turn with a waving hand, Rasmussen had to provide flexible openings in the fairing anyway. Therefore he elected to make the tail part below the shoulder level all- fabric.
Not shown, but important, are two horizontal low bays stretching from beneath the seat all the way to the rear, which are the principal carriers for the luggage. The Leitra is designed explicitly for up to 100 kg of cargo including its "human motor"; ergo, if the rider weights 75 kg, then the recommended  weight of luggage will be 25 kg. By volume, however, the luggage capacity is between 40 and 50 liters within the fairing.
