Velomobiles are neat!

John Williams' Quest at Portland 2004

They are streamlined like racers but they typically are roomier, are taller, and have some cargo capacity. Instead of speed being the primary objective, they are designed to be a compromise between speed and all-weather practicality.

They are not by any means a new idea. (For awhile, I owned this Cyclodyne built in 1980's). But interest in them really seems to be gathering steam now.

I find this to be a very welcome trend and hope it continues.
